My Budget-Friendly Weight Loss Journey 001

What’s the price of losing weight?

Losing weight is often associated with money; money for food, money for gym, for trainers, and for whatever other things related to losing weight.

As middle-class citizens who can’t afford to splurge on expensive gym memberships or weight loss programs, what’s left for us to do but look for a cheap way to lose ’em flabs. It’s just a matter of research, actually.

So, how much have I spent so far to start this weight loss journey?

Let me make a list.

Gym Ball                                                – 450 pesos
Fitness Band                                         – 250 pesos
Yoga Mat                                                – 350 pesos

The reason why I bought the items above is because I’ll be doing Barry’s Bootcamp

I have the DVD given to me by my friend. But since I don’t have the original Transformer Workout Bench and Power Handles , I got myself something similar; a regular gym ball and regular fitness band.

If you know Barry’s Bootcamp, you’ll know why I needed those. The yoga mat is optional, but is very helpful especially since there are some floor exercises included in the program.

The gym ball doesn’t feel that sturdy, but it managed to withstand my weight when I did the CODE RED work out.

The fitness band is either not long enough, or I just can’t extend it long enough because I am such a weakling hahaha!

The yoga mat, on the other hand, is just like a thin foam that gets flattened when you step on it ahahaha! But since I’m just going to use it for push-ups mostly, then it’s no longer bad for 350 pesos. It’s quite long too! Or are all yoga mats like that? XD

I’m currently doing the CODE RED workout. It’s only 15-minutes long, but fml, I couldn’t even feel my legs anymore! I used to do this everyday some years ago, until my good cat decided to tear my gym ball using her powerful and sharp claws. Good thing I still found the DVD!

To those who are interested to know more about Barry’s Bootcamp, please comment below 🙂 You’l never know. I might give you a DVD 😉

My Budget-Friendly Weight Loss Journey

I’m of those unlucky people who were born chubby.

When I was young, people often call me “siopao”. Siopao is a Chinese steamed bun that contains meat inside. My mom even believes that while she was pregnant, she often craves for siopao, that’s why I’m so round and so white.

Even until now, I am white and round. A siopao.

I’ve never been skinny all my life. I am only 151cm, and is currently weighing 55 kilos. My lightest weight ever was 46kgs and that’s when I was in college, taking up Nursing, poor, stressed, tired and sleepless. I miss the 46kg me though. Back then it was easier to take pictures without finding the right angle so I won’t look like a siopao, and back then my skin was a LOT healthier.

Being fat did me nothing good. I grew myomas (4 of them, though not deadly, but can grow bigger), pimples, and body pains. I’m not fat-shaming anyone including myself, but as I grew older, I realized the importance of being fit and healthy.

Today, I will start my budget-friendly weight loss journey!

I’ll be getting married soon, and I wanna look good in my wedding gown. I am also turning 31 this year, and you know how metabolism starts to slow down when you get 30? I’m worried about that.

Disclaimer: I am no expert, ok? I just eat what I think is healthy, with the help of what little knowledge I have left being a nurse. I also have Barry’s Boot Camp DVD, cheap ass exercise goods I bought from Watson’s, and some slimming stuff I bought online.

The picture above are the materials I will use for Barry’s Boot Camp. I will write more about everything later.

For now, weight loss, start!
